Hydromex: New Platform for Hydrogen Activities

The ecosystem platform Hydromex consolidates numerous pieces of information and projects related to hydrogen. Gas Connect Austria is also listed as a company and has been on board as a partner since the beginning.

On the path to establishing a hydrogen economy in Austria and its neighbouring regions, numerous hurdles still need to be overcome. In order to consolidate the diverse activities, the companies involved, and all related information, the ecosystem platform Hydromex was created. This initiative was spearheaded by the consulting firm Atlanto and the software and machine learning company Gradient Zero. The new website now features, for example, a knowledge database, current key figures on the production of green hydrogen in Austria, an online marketplace with offers and requests from companies, and a digital atlas of projects. There is also a collection of innovative digital platforms available on the site.

Gas Connect Austria is also involved

Gas Connect Austria has been on board since the beginning and is listed in the Hydromex corporate register. This provides an overview of the stakeholders involved in the hydrogen economy in Austria and neighboring regions, participating in various capacities. Premium users of the platform also receive additional information such as contact details and specific project and market activities in this emerging field.

Gas Connect Austria is also involved in regional projects on the platform. One example is the H2 Collector East pipeline project, which aims to facilitate the transport of green hydrogen from Burgenland to Vienna in the future. Gas Connect Austria is planning this project in cooperation with Austrian Gas Grid Management AG (AGGM), Netz Niederösterreich, Wiener Netze and Netz Burgenland. Another example is the Power-to-Gas for Austria (P2G4A) pilot project developed jointly by Gas Connect Austria and APG. This project focuses on the construction of an electrolysis plant that converts electricity into hydrogen, including a hydrogen pipeline and additional infrastructure for the future economic use of the technology.

Gas Connect Austria welcomes the launch of the Hydromex platform.All participants share a common goal: to promote the development of the Austrian hydrogen economy and to pave the way for a green energy future.
