System admission and system access

Distribution system operators cannot be chosen freely, and are subject to a special set of rules comprising legal requirements and regulations as well as authorisation obligations. In general, consumers give their chosen supplier authority to represent them vis-à-vis the system operator.

Initial connections to the network and changes to existing connections are governed by the system admission contract; access to the network via an existing connection is governed by the system access contract. The general terms and conditions for the distribution network form the mandatory basis for both contracts. These must be provided by the distribution system operator and are subject to the approval of the regulatory authority.

The current Gas Connect Austria General Terms and Conditions for the Distribution Network were approved by E-Control on 29 June 2015. They can be found on the homepage of the regulatory authority along with those of the other distribution system operators.
