The aim is to encourage reading aloud – not only in kindergarten and elementary school, but also at home. Parents should act as reading role models and encourage their children to read at an early age in order to promote language development and prevent learning difficulties.

As part of this campaign, all children between the ages of 0 and 10 in the municipalities Oberkappel, Neustift, Arnreit and Helfenberg receive either a book or a reading promotion package with exciting materials twice a year, with a total of two different titles per age group. In addition to the approximately 1,200 books per year, which are selected by the book club according to pedagogical criteria, parents receive creative ideas for activities with the books at home.
