Focus on the supply situation: Gas Connect Austria visualises current gas flows to Austria and Europe as a service

In order to provide a well-founded overview of the domestic supply situation, the transmission system operator Gas Connect Austria publishes up-to-date figures and charts on cross-border gas flows to Austria and European gas imports from Russia on a daily basis.

In view of the geopolitical tensions and the associated changes in the European gas market, gas flows are currently the subject of intense public debate. Against this background, Gas Connect Austria provides a well-founded overview of Euro-pean imports and in particular of cross-border gas flows to Austria. The development of the physical net gas flows at the Austrian cross-border interconnection points (unit MWh/day) is now publicly available on the GCA website. The graph shows the rolling development of gas imports over a two-week period. It is based on the ENTSOG Transparency Platform, to which the European Transmission System Op-erators report their data on a daily basis. The development of physical gas flows from Russia to Europe at the European entry points can also be viewed on the GCA website. The data is also shown in a two-week review and on the basis of the ENTSOG Transparency Platform.

Particularly in view of the volatile situation on the European gas market, it is im-portant for us to provide an easily accessible overview of the gas flows to Austria and the relevant gas import routes. As an important link in the European gas net-work and as a transmission system operator with particular relevance for domes-tic supply security, it is important to provide the public with easily understanda-ble facts in a targeted manner," says Stefan Wagenhofer, Managing Director of Gas Connect Austria.
