As a company that has been actively engaged in the communities surrounding our energy supply facilities for many years, education and promoting reading are particularly important to us. With the "LESEGEMEINDE" initiative, we aim to inspire families to start reading early and actively involve parents as reading role models. Reading aloud should not only take place in schools and kindergartens, but most importantly, it should begin at home.

Education is the key to a successful life, and that is why we are happy to support the reading promotion project in our neighboring municpalities," says Stefan Wagenhofer, Managing Director of Gas Connect Austria.

As part of the project, all children in the participating municipalities received a book or reading promotion package twice a year. These materials were carefully selected by the Austrian Book Club according to educational criteria. Parents were also given creative ideas for engaging with the books at home in order to promote their children's love of reading and language development. A total of around 1,200 books were distributed as part of the campaign.

Gas Connect Austria – local responsibility

With this commitment, we aim to make an important contribution to promoting literacy and educational equality. In recent years, we have already support children and young people in our neighboring municpalities through educational projects such as the archaeology project. We look forward to continuing to work together with the Austrian Book Club to realize such valuable initiatives..
