Together with the Transmission System Operators of Hungary FGSZ Zrt. and Romania SNTGN Transgaz SA an open season procedure for new cross-border transmission capacity at the Romanian-Hungarian and the Hungarian-Austrian border is currently being prepared. At present gas can physically only flow from Austria to Hungary but not in the reverse direction. The objective is to further establish the southern corridor for gas volumes for example from the Black Sea.

Consultation for binding open season rule book started

Within the period from 29 November to 9 January 2016 market participants are invited to give their opinion on the rule book for a joint open season procedure. The open season is expected to start in the second quarter of 2017. More details on the project can be found under the following link.
