GCA employees isolate themselves in a camp and thus secure international and national gas transport and supply

On 1 April the first Gas Connect Austria dispatching team moved into an isolated area, which was set up in an office building at Gasstation Baumgarten. The precautionary measure of installing sleeping and working areas isolated from the outside world (a so-called base camp) was taken in mid-March. All employees in the shift work of the particularly sensitive gas flow control (Physical Dispatching department) voluntarily agreed to accept the special challenge of working in isolation.

In just two weeks, all the technical and logistical requirements were met to set up improvised sleeping, working and leisure areas for the employees in a former office building.

Work is carried out in shifts and small teams, which are only changed after two weeks. Voluntary isolation is intended to prevent the employees from falling ill, in order to ensure the control of gas transport even in times of high risk of infection. Medical and psychological examinations were conducted before moving into the base camp; a doctor and an occupational psychologist accompany the teams from remote. The first change will take place on 15 April.
