As the new President of the ÖVGW, he will continue to promote gas as an environmentally friendly energy source, in particular the further development and diversification of the gas infrastructure and the switch to green gas. As President and spokesman of the ÖVGW, "I see the main challenges in the coming years as maintaining security of supply, achieving the European climate targets and at the same time ensuring competitive energy prices for companies and households. This can only be achieved by integrating green gases such as biomethane or hydrogen. - Green gases are climate-neutral, burn without producing fine-particle and can be easily transported and stored in the existing gas infrastructure," says Wagenhofer.
