HIAA: Green Hydrogen for Austria!

Eight leading Austrian energy and industrial companies have joined forces in the Hydrogen Import Alliance Austria (HIAA) to develop a roadmap for the import of green hydrogen. Gas Connect Austria is part of the strategic alliance and contributes its expertise, especially in the area of infrastructure.

Government funding for WAG Loop 1

In the context of the Council of Ministers, financial support for the WAG Loop 1 project by the Federal Government was announced in March 2024 and an enabling act for the provision of funds of up to EUR 70 million was passed in the parliamentary process at the beginning of July 2024. As the transmission system operator responsible for the project, Gas Connect Austria welcomes this decision.

Reading Together!

At the beginning of the holidays, Gas Connect Austria and the Book Club are supporting the LESEGEMEINDE campaign in four different municipalities in Upper Austria. The long-standing partner of the Austrian Book Club of Youth is once again supporting the promotion of reading in its neighbouring communities.

H2 Backbone WAG+PW

2030 it would be possible to transport 150 GW/h of hydrogen per day between Austria and Slovakia, and Austria and Germany in both directions.
