94 European energy companies, grid operators and trade associations are sending an open letter to the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Frans Timmermanns and other members of the Commission and the European Parliament. They want to emphasise the importance of Hydrogen Blending to gas networks. They believe that the retrofitting and conversion of existing gas networks should be combined with the construction of new dedicated hydrogen infrastructures. One of the advantages would be that injecting hydrogen into gas transmission and distribution pipelines provides renewable and low-carbon energy to consumers that are currently connected to the gas network. Gas Connect Austria fully agrees and is one of the companies that co-signed the letter.
